Dog Left To Wander The Streets For Heartbreaking Reason

Here is an incredible story about a Coon Hound given up for a tragic reason.

This is a story about a coon hound named Ghost.  She was found one day wandering around in someone’s yard in Michigan’s western area.  The homeowner came out to see if the dog was lost or just passing through but noticed something different about her collar.  When the homeowner went to see what was on Ghost’s collar she was surprised to see a note had been attached.

All to often when someone is unable or unwilling to care for a dog, they will just ‘dump’ the dog in a neighborhood or in front of a shelter.  Most of the time the motive for doing this is often because someone has to move or for financial reasons.  But what the homeowner found on Ghost’s collar will show a different reason.

As you can see with the images below, Ghost’s previous caregiver had to let her go because of severe health reasons.  It broke my heart when I read the note for the first time.

All I could think of was how important and comforting it can be to have a loving dog when you are in distress or hurting.  So even though our first reaction might be angry that someone might just abandon a dog is justified, sometimes compassion is needed to see the whole story.

The organization, Luvnpupz in Michigan was notified and came and picked up Ghost.

They were able to make sure that Ghost was safe and in good health condition.  As an organization with many ties to the local community, they have been trying to find Ghost’s original owner.  Not to shame or upset the individual, but instead to give them an opportunity to see Ghost and to know she is safe.  Ghost is in a foster home right now and is hoping to be adopted soon.

I hope this story touched your heart as it did mine.  Please feel free to Comment, Like or Share below.
